Up to 30% of the trunk wood obtained during thinning and clearing cuts consists of production residues. In other words, in addition to the average of 6-7 thousand tons of trunk wood produced each year, at least 2,000 tons of biomass material consisting of branch wood is obtained. A pellet wood production facility with a capacity of 1 ton per hour was established in our private afforestation area in Bursa / Karacabey, primarily to utilize production residues and, when necessary, trunk wood. The infrastructure of the facility is suitable for increasing the capacity to 3 tons/hour with small additions.
Our facility is the first facility in our country to produce pellet wood from its own forest. Pellet plants generally produce pellet wood from the production residues of wood processing facilities, sawdust, and all kinds of wood waste such as furniture and pallets. In other words, while all existing pellet facilities produce pellets from wood raw materials of unknown origin, our facility produces pellet wood from raw materials of known origin and obtained from its own pine forest.
